Bonnie Ruth’s Cafe

We enjoyed a great lunch at Bonnie Ruth’s Cafe in Frisco, Texas.  It is located at the corner of Lebanon Road and The Dallas North Tollway. They can be found online at http://www.bonnieruths.com.My wife and I each had the Chicken Pesto sandwich.  This is a wonderful grilled marinated chicken with basil pesto, balsamic tomato, baby greens, mozzarella and house vinaigrette on fresh French roll.
My wife ordered the delicious french fries (which they call by the french name of pommes frites) and for an additional $2.00 I ordered the fresh fruit option.  The sandwiches were a sure winner with a nice tangy flavor.

The kids ordered pizzas (one cheese and one peperonni).  They thouroughly enjoyed the pizzas and there were leftovers for the next day.

I must say the service we received was well beyond my expectations.

Gloria’s Restaurant

Gloria’s Restaurant is certainly a favorite for Frisco. During our lunch, the staff was most attentive. Our drinks were never low. I ordered the tostada dinner which was one of the best I’ve had. My husband purchased the chicken fajitas. They graciously gave him corn tortillas. Unfortunately we had no leftovers to take home. We certainly will chose Gloria’s again.

VIETNAMESE BAPTIST CHURCH RECEIVES PERMISSION TO USE BUILDING AS A CHURCH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2008

For More Information, Please Contact:
Name: Diane Wetherbee, City Attorney
Telephone: 972-941-7125

District Judge Greg Brewer ruled that the Plano Vietnamese Baptist Church will
be allowed to use the building located at 1616 G Avenue as a church although the
property does not meet the City’s lot regulation requiring a minimum site area of
two acres for such use.

The Church previously appeared before the Board of Adjustment to request a
variance. However, based on the evidence provided to the Board during the
hearing, the Board lacked the legal basis for granting their request. The Church
appealed the Board’s decision to District Court as allowed by statute.

With the Judge’s ruling, the Church can now apply for a Certificate of
Occupancy.

Plano Animal Services Reports Rabies Positive Bat

For Immediate Release Sept. 22, 2008

Contact:
Sherry Smith
Animal Services Supervisor
Phone: (972) 769-4373

On Sept.20, the City of Plano Animal Services received notification a bat on Willow
Ross Way in the Willow Bend area had tested positive for Rabies. This is Plano’s third
rabies positive bat to be reported.

Bats in particular are at a high risk of spreading Rabies. With this in mind, Animal
Services would like to offer these helpful tips to prevent Rabies.

1) Do not touch injured, sick or dead bats. Contact Plano Animal Services at
(972) 769-4360 for help.
2) If you have had contact with a bat, you may need to seek medical attention
as bat bites are not always visible.
3) Teach children to avoid contact with bats.
4) Keep the Rabies vaccinations of family pets current.
